Job Title: Legal Head
Location: Mumbai, India
Job Description:
Seeking an experienced and strategic Legal Head to oversee all legal aspects of the business. The ideal candidate will ensure that our operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and will provide strategic legal advice to support our business objectives
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all legal matters of the company, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, contracts, and litigation
Provide expert legal advice and support to the executive team and other departments
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts and agreements
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including those specific to the fintech and payment gateway industry
Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other legal service providers
Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure legal compliance
Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the company’s business and provide training and guidance to employees on legal matters
Handle legal disputes and manage the company’s response to litigation and regulatory inquiries
Advise on strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB). A master’s degree in Law (LLM) or equivalent is preferred
Admission to the Bar Council of India
8+ years of experience in a legal role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position, preferably in the fintech or financial services industry
Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and contract law
Cyber law diploma or degree will be an added advantage
